The award of the Makész trade mark is not automatic, and it indicates not only the quality of the buildings.
The award of the trade mark of the Lightweight Construction Section is linked to strict requirements, and the right to use the trade mark is awarded always for one year only, on the basis on on-site checks, and consultations with the customers and the enterprises, with EMI.
During the checking it shall be examined if the company, further to its professional commitment, respects the technical provisions in force concerning lightweight constructions. During the on-site checks the customer satisfaction is at least as important as the appropriate works execution level. In addition to the building works execution the lightweight construction companies provide a wide range of complementary services (design documentation, mortgage loan administration), and the question is, if these services are handled to the satisfaction of the customers, or are there complaints in this regard.

The Presidential Board decides on the award of the MAKÉSZ trade mark, on the basis of the proposal of the award committee, and the decision must still be confirmed by the Assembly. The lightweight construction company having received the award can use the MAKÉSZ trade mark during one year. The committee shall check the enterprise normally twice, but at least, once a year, and it is on this basis that it shall formulate its proposal for awarding the trade mark.

The conditions for applying for the MAKÉSZ trade mark:
 Business activities in respect of the law,
 ÉVOSZ membership,
 Lightweight Construction Section membership,
 Having an ÉME registration number,
 Unconditional acceptance of the person of the ombudsman.

How to apply for the MAKÉSZ trade mark:
 On forms made available in writing.
 Its fee is established each year, to be approved by the Assembly.

Who can be eligible to obtain the MAKÉSZ trade mark?
Building contracting companies should meet the following criteria to become eligible to be awarded the MAKÉSZ trade mark:
 To build “real”, i.e. prefabricated panel timber-frame houses.
 ÉMI-certified building construction technology
 Existence of a full-scale system documentation
 Using only materials with a quality certification
 Applying a manufacturing plant quality assurance system
 Strict archiving procedures for the already completed lightweight construction houses.

When shall the MAKÉSZ trade mark be revoked?
On the proposal of the committee and of the presidential board the MAKÉSZ trade mark can be revoked by decision of the Assembly
 if two checks prove to be inconclusive,
 the ÉME shall be revoked,
 the section membership ceases,
 if there are justified customer complaints concerning operations in respect of the law, or the use of the technology,
 if the company refuses the conciliatory proposal of the ombudsman,
 if the company is dissolved,
 if the company seriously violates the Statutes.
